Q: Health_and_wellbeing
pls am a young girl and i have toilet infection i have been told to use the tablet(inserter)but lots of people are discouraging me that that it is not really reliable.pls help its pretty embarassing.i cant even imagine seeing a doctor
A: CRI Doctor Says:
generally, you shouldn't take the advice of non-professionals. there is absolutely nothing unreliable about pessaries( drugs that are inserted); what ensures efficacy is the fact that in the first place, the appropriate diagnosis is be made, and then treated. Though you may be young, so-called toilet infections are common in females of all ages, and doctors are aware of this. there is no stigma attached.
therefore i advice you consult with a doctor for the appropriate treatment, to prevent any unnecessary and easily avoidable complications_ _ _

Q: Heart_and_blood
I am 25 years old and am suffering from hypertension.I experience irregular chest pain and am adding weight very much.I don't have any problem to think of and am financially ok,I meet a cardiaologist that confirms that am ok.what could be the cause?
A: CRI Doctor Says:
hypertension is very common in this environment. for some reason still not entirely understood by the science community, it is a condition found in most people of negroid origin.
chest pain and weight gain are not specifically related to hypertension itself and may be symptoms of other cardiovascular disease such as angina and hyercholesterolaemia; it may even be completely unrelated and signify thyroid dysfunction or may simply be ingestion of too many calories_ _ _

Q: Men_s_health
I have Ulcer 4 over 15 yrs. Each time I complained to Doctors they never test me to see the extent of infection. They just prescribe Gelosil antacid which does nothing but just relieve for few moments. What can I do? I'm still suffering.
A: CRI Doctor Says:
there a number of things that can be done to manage ulcer and they include avoiding intake of carbonated drinks, not smoking, avoiding spicy and peppery foods and eating small and regular meals to ensure the stomach is hardly ever empty.
also note that milk and milk products are beneficial in mild cases of heartburn.
15yrs is a long time to have ulcer, and though the factors mentioned above are quite beneficial, you may need to see a specialist (gastroenterologist) for appropriate care. you will be tested for and treated for a bacteria (H.Pylori), that is present in the stomachs of most ulcer patients, amongst other medication( called triple therapy) at the end of which you will be much relieved of your symptoms. if needed a specialized test to look into your stomach to determine the extent of the ulcer may also be carried out _ _ _

Q: Skin_and_hair
hi i read ur answers to peoples question in the site and i also have a problem.i have hairs all over my body if i cut it before 2 weeks it will grow again.i also have pimples all over my face what can i do.i am kind of feel embarrsed in the public.
A: CRI Doctor Says:
the rate of hair growth varies from one individual to another, and also varies from one part of the body to another. 2 weeks is not an unusual period.
for pimples, ensure your face is washed at least twice a day to remove excess oil and dirt and avoid use of any harsh cosmetic products on your face. also note that it is a common problem especially in the adolescent and early adulthood phases; you may need to see a dermatologist in severe cases, for prescription medication._ _ _

Q: Birth_control
pls i want to know how to calculate the standard calenda method of natural birth control
A: CRI Doctor Says:
natural birth control (billings method) is based on the assumption that ovulation is most likely to take place roughly on the 14th day of a regular 28day cycle.
the first day of your menses is counted as day one, roughly anytime from the 12th-16th is the most likely period for ovulation when a woman is most likely to get pregnant, as may be indicated by slippery cervical mucus, so u may avoid intercourse anytime during this period, if pregnancy is to be avoided; however, please note that this method of birth control is directly related to the level of accuracy carried out by the individual and is aided by adjunct contraception such as barrier methods._ _ _
